GOOGLE SCHORLARHIP FOR AFRICAN DEVELOPERS

Google is partnering with Pluralsight to give you free access to Pluralsight course content plus support from the Andela Learning Community across three skills development tracks: Mobile Web, Android and Google Cloud.

After completing your desired skills development track, you will be eligible to receive a Google certification grant to take Google’s Associate Android Developer, Mobile Web Specialist and Associate Cloud Engineer certification exams.

What’s included:

Access to expert-led videos, available on-demand with our mobile app and offline capabilities

Guided skill development with curated paths and channels according to your chosen track

Skill assessments that help you identify knowledge gaps and strengths, and allow you to share your proficiency on Facebook, Twitter and Stack Overflow

Support from the Pluralsight Help Center and the Andela Learning Community to help you complete your track and prepare for your chosen Google certification exam

Acceptance into this program:

Acceptance into this program is limited, so get started today to ensure you don’t miss out! Applicants will be prioritized based on Pluralsight Skill IQs, amount of Pluralsight content consumed and other target demographics. The application and registration period will end on May 15, 2019.

Your access to the Andela Learning Community is limited to our selection for each session. Additionally, your access to Pluralsight is a maximum of nine months. This access may end early if you do not advance sessions.

NLNG SCHOLARSHIPS
Nigeria LNG Limited supports education through several initiatives. One of them is Scholarships. NLNG has a four-tier scholarship programme which channels support for human capital development and encourage high performance, ultimately growing a pool of high potential students, graduates and professionals with competitive advantage.

NLNG POST PRIMARY SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria

  1. Be an indigene of NLNG host communities
  2. Be a Basic 5 or 6 pupil
  3. Provide his/her Basic Five result
  4. Must provide an attestation letter signed & stamped by the Head Teacher of his/her school (contact number of the Head Teacher also to be included)
  5. Provide an indigene confirmation letter signed by the CDC Chairman or Chief in his/her community
  6. Provide letter of identification from his/her Local Government Council
  7. Not be a child or ward of staff of Nigeria LNG Limited.

NLNG Overseas Post Graduate Scholarship


NLNG UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria

Any prospective beneficiary must

  1. Have excellent/very good West Africa School Certificate WASC) or National Examination Council result at ONE sitting
  2. Have a top score at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination
  3. Be a certified Full-Time Year-One student of any Nigerian University at the time of application
  4. Not be on any other Scholarship Award from other companies or agencies
  5. Not be a spouse, child, ward or direct relation of staff of Nigeria LNG Limited

The Application Process

Interested persons should visit www.nigerialng.com to apply.

Click on the “our CSR” menu to select “Education” from the drop down menu, click on “Scholarship” link and then on the “Under-Graduate” link to access the application portal.

All applications MUST include the following scanned copies as attachments:

  1. Passport sized photography
  2. WASC or NECO result
  3. JAMB result
  4. University admission letter
  5. University student ID card
  6. LGA Letter of identification
  7. Application Deadline: May 13th 2019

FULL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS

For applicants from Sub-Saharan African countries with an excellent academic record the DRD offers a limited number of DAAD merit scholarships per year. Scholarships are available for full-time students of
  • The MA in Development Studies
  • The Master in Public Administration
  • The MA in Development Management (Bochum Programme, next deadline 30 November 2019)
Scholarships include monthly allowances of 650 Euro plus travel allowances for Master candidates and 900 Euro and travel allowances for PhD candidates. The Scholarship Programme covers tuition and registration fees. More information about requirements for application and application procedure is provided below.

Requirements for application and application procedure
Scholarship applicants is advised to carefully read about the specific entry requirements and course application procedure of the programme of their choice. The information is available from the respective programs sections. In addition to programme requirements, all applicants have to meet the following requirements:
  1. Applicants should be from Sub-Sahara Africa
  2. Applicants should have an outstanding academic record - at least 70% for your last degree
  3. Applicants should apply within 6 years of having completed their previous degree
  4. The study must have been completed at an internationally recognized university
  5. he previous degree (Baccalaureus or Master) should have been an academic discipline, which is related to Development Studies or Public Administration
  6. South African students are required to have an honors degree in order to be admitted to a Master’s degree course. Other students need the equivalent of a 4 year undergraduate degree
  7. Applicants must provide evidence of proficiency in English, both written and spoken. This can be TOEFL test or a similar standard test or a letter from an academic institution
  8. Work and/or voluntary experience in your field of interest would be a recommendation

Applicants must be able to study fulltime at the UWC for the required period.

You will have to fill in an electronic application form (ONLY AVAILABLE FROM mid-APRIL to 15 July during open Calls)! Applications not using this e-form can´t be considered! As the e-form can only be submitted once, please make sure that your application is complete before submitting it!

Documents that have to be uploaded when using the e-form are:
A letter of application
A CV: Please use the euro pass CV form available at https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/home
An academic transcript from your last university
Certified copies of all academic certificates
MA applicants will have to write a one page paper about 1 of 3 different topics, available in the "How to apply" section of each Master Programme
PhD applicants don´t write an essay, but are asked to submit a 5 page proposal on the research they would want to undertake for the thesis. This should include their research question, the research methodology and a (provisional) theoretical framework. A list of topics is given in the PhD section.

Additional one signed reference (academic) (and one professional if applicable) have to be uploaded to the e-form. Only if referees don´t want you to submit the reference yourself, the reference can be send by the referee directly to info.uwc@cdr-sa.org, indicating the applicant's name!

Candidates for the Masters Programme in Public Administration (MPA), the MA in Development Studies as well as PhD candidates in the fields of Governance, Public Policy, Public Management or Development Studies can submit their scholarship application without needing to apply for admission at UWC. If they are awarded a scholarship, or if they intend to finance themselves, they may apply for admission through the online application procedure (www.uwc.ac.za).
